Executive summary

The Atlantic Council of Serbia is a non-profit organization established in June13th 2001 year. Among the founders of the Council are well-established figures from the field of diplomacy, business, political analysis, law, journalism, marketing, military analysts and police as well as people from the University and other prominent individuals from public life. The founders were driven by their belief that the inclusion of Serbia into Euro-Atlantic integration is in the best national interest. This lead to establishing the Atlantic Council.

Our main interest is to establish lasting peace and stability in the region and, thus, create conditions for economic recovery. The only way to achieve this hard task is the inclusion into the Euro-Atlantic community.

The Atlantic council of Serbia is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), a network of nongovernmental organizations consisting of 40 national organizations. The main goals of ATA are based on the Charter of the United Nations: members of this association emphasize their desire to live in peace with all peoples and governments, to protect the freedom and values of their nation, which are based on the principles of democracy, individual freedoms and the rule of law, to seek to improve stability and prosperity in the Euro-Atlantic area, and to unite their peoples through programs of collective defense and the preservation of peace and security.

Based on 11 years of experience in promoting Atlantic values and Euro-Atlantic cohesion, the  ACS is now focusing its attention to a broad spectrum of modern global challenges and improving business environment in the country. In accordance with the official national strategy, the Atlantic council is focusing on attracting investment and improving macroeconomic indicators in the country.

Global Business and Economic Program/Business and Economic Advisors Group

This program is intended for domestic and foreign companies to help them achieve their planned business objectives, as well as to solving problems in relationships with relevant government authorities to accelerate the procedure and for obtaining various documents and permits from the administration, strengthening the position of public companies in Serbia, especially regarding the decision makers.

CREATING AND BUILDING A POSITIVE POSITION IN THE SERBIAN PUBLIC (POSITIVE PUBLIC IMAGE)

-Strengthening or creating a positive position of the domestic or foreign companies in the Serbian public and in the media in order to the business objectives that the company wants to achieve on Serbian market.

ESTABLISHING CHANNELS OF COMUNICATION WITH THE STATE AUTHORITIES

In order to achieve the planned business objectives or resolve possible problems or disputes, the Atlantic Council of Serbia is planning to establish channels of communication with the competent authorities, in order to find the best solution for the client or company. For the client we will provide mobility and communication channels to the state authorities which are relevant for the decision-making process, these will be presented with relevant arguments and information needed to reach a high quality and favorable decision for the parties.

We would like to emphasize that we are also able to provide mediation in cooperation with companies and all relevant state institutions in all the countries in the region. Thanks to the network of the ATA and its regional partners the Atlantic Council can establish the same level of communication in any other country from the region.

This communication may involve coordination and support of international institutions, particularly the European Commission and European Parliament for resolving  any kind of disputes.

This segment includes the establishment of communication activities at different levels and different modalities, all for the purpose of achieving the planned objectives.

ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT DURING THE PROCES OF OBTAINING  VARIOUS DOCUMENTS AND PERMITS

In order to achieve the planned business projects, or resolve any disputes or problems related to obtaining the necessary licenses or similar documents, the Atlantic Council activities are  created to give assistance and help in obtaining various documents and permits, through the establishment of priority communications with the competent authorities (primarily administrative bodies) in order to quickly obtain the necessary documentation. In this way it speeds up the otherwise very slow permitting procedures, and provides a more effective achievement of business goals and client companies.
