AIRCOM’s Mobile Training Team visits Serbia

The NATO Allied Air Command (AIRCOM) Mobile Training Team (MTT) paid a visit to Belgrade this week, where it conducted a course focusing on the NATO Air Operational Planning Process (8–10 July 2025). This event, organized at the request of the Serbian Air Force, offered a good opportunity to present and explain NATO’s approach to Air Operations Planning Process (AOPP) as well as to exchange experiences in this field. As part of the visit, discussions were also held on practical activities aimed at achieving the set goals of the NATO Partnership for Peace Programme in the field of aviation.

This event also served as an appropriate occasion for developing better common understanding, bolstering further discussions and strengthening mutual trust, with the expectation that this AOPP MTT will pave the way for other mutually beneficial engagements in the future.

This represents another example of the long-standing and successful practical cooperation between NATO and the Serbian Armed Forces under the Partnership for Peace Programme (PfP) framework. Since joining the PfP in 2006, Serbia has worked closely with NATO to enhance its defence capabilities through various programmes. By providing education and training to the partner countries’ officers and personnel through various visits and programmes, NATO enables them to obtain valuable new skills and expertise, thus strengthening their ability to operate effectively alongside troops from other countries.
