The Atlantic Council of Serbia is a non-profit organization established in June13th 2001 year. Among the founders of the Council are well-established figures from the field of diplomacy, business, political analysis, law, journalism, marketing, military analysts and police as well as people from the University and other prominent individuals from public life. The founders were driven by their belief that the inclusion of Serbia into Euro-Atlantic integration is in the best national interest. This lead to establishing the Atlantic Council.
Our main interest is to establish lasting peace and stability in the region and, thus, create conditions for economic recovery. The only way to achieve this hard task is the inclusion into the Euro-Atlantic community.
The Atlantic council of Serbia is a member of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA), a network of nongovernmental organizations consisting of 40 national organizations. The main goals of ATA are based on the Charter of the United Nations: members of this association emphasize their desire to live in peace with all peoples and governments, to protect the freedom and values of their nation, which are based on the principles of democracy, individual freedoms and the rule of law, to seek to improve stability and prosperity in the Euro-Atlantic area, and to unite their peoples through programs of collective defense and the preservation of peace and security.
Based on 11 years of experience in promoting Atlantic values and Euro-Atlantic cohesion, the ACS is now focusing its attention to a broad spectrum of modern global challenges and improving business environment in the country. In accordance with the official national strategy, the Atlantic council is focusing on attracting investment and improving macroeconomic indicators in the country.
