On Tuesday, December 17, the conference “NATO and partners 2024: Through Trust to Lasting Peace” was held in Belgrade, organized by the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade (NATO MLO).
The conference began with the handover of the duties of the outgoing head of the Office of Brigadier General Giampiero Romano to the new head Brigadier General Pierluigi Lodola. On this occasion, the commander of the NATO Joint Forces Command in Naples, Admiral Stuart Munch, who was visiting Belgrade, spoke.
“This region is important to NATO, as was said at the Washington summit in July. This region will remain the focus of NATO,” said Admiral Munsch, adding that NATO respects the policy of military neutrality of Republic of Serbia.
During the handover ceremony, the new head of the NATO MLO Brigadier General Pierluigi Lodola emphasized he is honored to be appointed to the position and added that he and his team will do their best to continue good cooperation with Serbia.
On this occasion, the 75th anniversary of NATO and the 18th anniversary of the NATO Military Liaison Office in Belgrade were also marked.
The representatives of the Atlantic Council of Serbia thank the NATO MLO in Belgrade for the invitation to this very important and productive event.
